Santa Letter Worried About Environment

Text of the letter:

Dear ______________,

Ho, ho, ho! Thank you so much for your thoughtful letter. I’m looking forward to delivering your gifts this Christmas.

I understand why you are worried about the environment, and the future of our planet. During my yearly flights, I see the effects of climate change in our Earth’s oceans, forests, and atmosphere.

The good news is, kids like you who care about these issues can help. You can write to the politicians who represent your region or state. Let them know that you want them to support laws that protect our Earth. Encourage others in your life to reduce their impacts on the environment. And, of course, do your best as an individual.

Here at the North Pole, we try to conserve and recycle as much as we can. Because we fly everywhere in just one night using optimized gift delivery routing, that cuts down on trips! Plus, my sleigh runs on reindeer power, not fossil fuels.

I have news! Mrs. Claus and I are looking into getting solar panels installed at the Workshop! It is a little challenging here at the North Pole, so we are also exploring wind energy. We have already converted the toy-making equipment to be more energy-efficient, and the toys are made with sustainable materials when possible. Plus, we recycle!

I will see you on Christmas Eve! It will be very late at night, so be sure to get to bed early, because I can’t drop in if you are awake.

Love,

Santa
