Dear Susie,
I'm so sorry I didn't get your first letter! I understand that you were upset that I never responded. I think the problem was that you sent the letter in the mail without telling your parents. You see, the mail carriers don't make it all the way to the North Pole. You can definitely write a letter, but even putting a stamp on the envelope doesn't mean that it will make it all the way to my workshop.
If you want a better way to reach me, I recommend writing your letter again and then using clothespins or paperclips to attach it to your Christmas tree. You can ask your parents for help if you need to. If you don't have a Christmas tree yet, you can attach it to a string of garland.
Christmas trees and Christmas decorations have a lot of Christmas magic. If you attach your letter to them like I told you, I'll be able to receive a copy all the way up in the North Pole. And it will save you the cost of a stamp!
