Dear Susie,
I'm sorry that you didn't like the present I got you this year. I guess I missed the mark! I know that you know the holiday is about more than just getting gifts, and I appreciate that you were grateful, but I was still bummed to see how disappointed you were.
I don't usually do this, but I'm going to offer a one-time replacement gift opportunity this week. Just leave the gift by your bed along with a list of five presents you'd rather have. I will choose ONE present from the list as a replacement (make sure your parents approve the list before you leave it for me).
